We are proud to announce that Château de la Barbinière has held the Green Key certification—the leading international label for sustainable tourism—since 2024. This distinction recognizes our concrete commitment to the environment, biodiversity, and more responsible tourism. Sustainable resource management, waste reduction, promoting local supply chains, raising awareness among our staff and guests… every action we take is part of a sustainable, rigorous, and sincere approach. Staying with us means choosing a place where comfort and environmental consciousness go hand in hand.

Our CSR Commitments

Set amid 13 hectares of unspoiled nature, the Château de la Barbinière is naturally committed to a sustainable and responsible approach. Aware of their role, all teams at the estate have come together to implement concrete and measurable actions in every department. These include: rigorous waste sorting, with 80% of organic waste composted and reused for the maintenance of green spaces, responsible water and energy management through simple eco-friendly practices applied daily, and the installation of hedgehog shelters, in partnership with a local organization, to help injured hedgehogs recover and return to the wild.

As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, solar panels have been under installation since 2025, with the goal of moving toward energy self-sufficiency. By 2026, the estate also plans to create an educational vegetable garden and install beehives, thereby reinforcing our commitment to preserving biodiversity.

By staying with us, you’re contributing to our eco-friendly approach. We invite you to join us in this effort by choosing, if you wish, not to have your sheets and towels changed between stays, by being mindful of your water and energy usage, and by respecting the natural environment by keeping it free of litter and avoiding any behavior that might harm it. Every little bit counts—together, let’s work toward more sustainable tourism.
